German
On the one hand the subject German is all about knowledge transfer, practicing work techniques and preparing for tests and graduation. On the other hand, it is expected that students use their creativity, gain responsibilty, improve their teamwork and communication skills, are able to organize their personal studying and of course develop their interest in literature and cultural life in our society.
How can this be achieved?
First of all it is necessary to make the transition to the high school as easy as possible. Therefore the subjects that were already teached in elementary school get repeated and deepened in the first semester of the fifth grade.
We emphasize the independence of dealing with books. Subjects like reading, writing texts, preparing presentations and giving lectures are trained and supported.
Competitions, creative processes, many other tasks and even the Latin language will help the students to understand their own language.
The mentioned aspects also apply to the following grades. This is how the subject German contributes to an aesthetic and linguistic education, that allows the students to prepare for an active life and the participation in the society.
