Chronic
Bodo Gotthardt attended our high school from 1930 until 1938 (graduation) as a student and taught the subjects German, Latin and Greek from 1953 until his retirement in 1985 at Gymnasium Steglitz.
Our school was only for boys until 1950. That year, for the first time, a girl from high school, Sibylle Hommel, daughter of the Greek professor Hildebrecht Hommel, graduated from our school. It went on very sparesly: one girl in 1952, two more the following year. The number of girls accepted at Gymnasium Steglitz increased, but there were only a few, who remained at our school until graduation. Even in the sixties, an all-boys class existed almost every year. Not until 1985 the number of accepted girls was greater than the number of boys.
It was fortunate for the high school that, compared to other schools, we only had few different headmasters, not more than seven in 125 years. The following list shows them chronologically.
